化学化工学院简介
扬州大学化学化工学院位于古城扬州著名风景区瘦西湖畔,于2002年8月建院,办学历史最早可追溯到1952年创建的苏北师专化学科。学院现有化学、应用化学、高分子材料与工程、化学工程与工艺、制药工程、材料化学等六个本科专业,其中化学为国家特色专业,国家综合改革试点专业,化学和应用化学均为省品牌专业,高分子材料与工程专业为教育部卓越工程师培养试点专业、省特色专业。
化学学科为江苏省优势学科, ESI国际排名全球前1%学科。学院于2003年和2005年分别获得物理化学和分析化学两个二级学科博士学位授权点,2011年获批化学一级学科博士学位授权点,涵盖无机化学、有机化学、分析化学、物理化学、高分子化学与物理、环境化学、食品化学等7个二级学科,2009年设化学博士后流动站。
学院有化学、化学工程与技术、材料科学与工程3个一级学科硕士学位授权点,涵盖化学工程、化学工艺、生物化工、应用化学、工业催化、材料物理与化学、材料学、材料加工工程等13个二级学科硕士学位授权点,并设有课程教学论(化学)硕士学位点。学院另设有教育硕士(化学教育方向)、工程硕士(含化学工程、材料工程和制药工程三个领域)和高校教师在职攻读硕士学位等3个专业学位授权点。
学院有“环境材料与环境工程”省级重点实验室,物理化学、分析化学为国家精品课程、国家精品资源共享课程,大学化学实验为国家精品课程,有机化学为国家双语教学示范课程,另有4门省优秀、精品课程,物理化学教学团队为国家级教学团队。在籍本科生近1000名,硕、博士研究生400多名。
学院拥有一支高素质的师资队伍,现有专任教师98人,其中教授32人,副教授46人,具有副教授(含)以上职称的教师占专任教师总数的79.6%,具有博士学位的教师72人,占专任教师总数的73.5%。近三年来,承担省级以上科研项目近100项,其中国家自然科学基金项目近40项;发表SCI、EI收录的学术论文500余篇。
学院建有省级化学实验教学示范中心,拥有国内领先的实验条件、装备和管理模式,管理水平受到省内外同行专家的高度评价。实验中心已通过了国家计量认证,先进的仪器设备可为社会提供化学成分、结构分析以及材料性能测试等技术服务。与地方企业合作建成了三个省级工程研究中心。
学院坚持“理工交融”的办学特色和“宽口径、厚基础、重实践、求创新”的人才培养模式,高度重视学生创新、实践能力的培养,10多名学生分获全国大学生“挑战杯”科技作品大赛一、二、三等奖,17名学生分获全国“大学生化学实验邀请赛”一、二、三等奖。“化学化工复合型创新性人才培养模式创新实验基地”被评为江苏省高等教育人才培养创新实验基地。
学院非常注重国际间的交流与合作,已与英国哈德斯费尔德大学(Huddersfield)、日本九州工业大学等国外高等院校建立了良好的合作关系,进行学术交流与合作研究,共同培养本科生和硕士研究生。
Introduction to College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
The College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Yangzhou University can be dated back to the establishment of chemistry department, Yangzhou teacher’s college in 1952. The campus is near the southern entrance of Slender West Lake Park in Yangzhou's ancient city. The department of chemistry was reformed into the college of chemistry and chemical engineering in 2002.
The college offers education from undergraduate to graduate and doctoral students at different levels of qualifications as well as various forms of non-academic education. Bachelor’s degree programs include Chemistry, applied chemistry, chemical engineering & processing, medicinal engineering, polymer material science & engineering, and materials chemistry. Among them, chemistry subject is not only the state-level key discipline, but also is national professional comprehensive reform pilot project. Moreover, both chemistry, and applied chemistry subjects are now also selected into Jiangsu provincial key subjects. Polymer material science & engineering subject is selected into excellence engineers education program of education ministry, and Jiangsu provincial specially-supported major.
Chemistry subject is ranked in the top 1% by the essential scientific index (ESI)as the priority academic program development of Jiangsu higher education institution. The college has subordinate discipline doctoral programs of physical chemistry and analytical chemistry in 2003, 2005, respectively. The college further boasts primary Chemistry discipline doctoral program covering inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, Polymer chemistry and physics, environmental chemistry, food chemistry in 2011, as well as one post-doctoral research stations in 2009.
The college also includes 3 master programmes in primary-level disciplines in chemistry, Chemical engineering and technology, materials science, and 13subordinate discipline master programs covering chemical engineering, chemical technology, bio-chemical, applied chemistry, industrial catalysis, material physics and chemistry, materials science, materials processing, and teaching of Chemistry. Moreover, 3 professional master degree programmes are involved, such as master of education, master of engineering, and in-service postgraduate courses.
At present, research unit that have been established are the Jiangsu provincial key laboratory of environmental materials and environmental engineering. the college has 3 national excellent courses (analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, general chemistry); 2 state-level quality open course (analytical chemistry, physical chemistry); 1 national bilingual education demo course (organic chemistry);1 state-level teaching team (teaching team of physical chemistry); and 4 provincial-level distinctive majors. So far, there are more than 1400 students enrolled in the the college. (approximately 1000 undergraduate and 400 graduate students).
There are 98 faculty members, including 32 professors and 46 associated professor (79.6 % of 98 ). 72 faculty members have already got Ph.D degrees (73.5 % of 98).Our faculty members are highly qualified and academically productive. In the past 3 years, the college has operated more than 100 provincial (ministerial)-level scientific research projects, including about 40 national natural science foundation projects, and published more than 500 papers indexed by SCI and EI.
The college hosts a provincial experimental teaching model center with state-of-the-art instruments and top-heavy management model, which get high praise from experts and peersin China. The college has also established a testing center for large-scale instruments, providing a strong support for scientific research, and technical and social services, which has passed national metrology accreditation and laboratory accreditation. In cooperation with local enterprises, the college has 3 provincial engineering technology research centers.
The college has always adhered to the school characteristics “the blend of science and engineering education, and training system“wide caliber, thick foundation, practical, heavy innovation”. We attach great importance to strengthen training of students' practical ability and innovation ability. More than 10 students won different levels of awards at National Challenge Cup Competition. Moreover, more than 17 students won different levels of awards at National College Invitational Competition for Chemistry Experiment. We use innovative training model to cultivate compound talents with chemistry and chemical engineering knowledge. Therefore, our students’ experimental base has been awarded as Jiangsu higher training model innovation experimental base.
Exchange and cooperation with foreign universities are widely encouraged.Intensive cooperation, including cultivating undergraduate and graduate programs together, academic exchange and joint research, with the University of Huddersfield (UK) and Kyushu Institute of Technology (Japan), has been formed.
